Plenty of parking on arrival and self check in was easy. Our room was clean and ready with everything we needed. Decent shower, huge fluffy bath towels and a jug for the water which we really appreciated as the sinks were too shallow to fill a water bottle. The beds were really comfortable and we overlooked the beautiful garden. We got back to the hotel about 1am and thankfully the key worked perfectly! Great nights sleep, I can't comment if it was quiet or noisy as I sleep with earplugs. The member of staff on duty at breakfast was wonderful, he explained everything to us and took our orders. They poach their own fruit - peaches etc and it's wonderful with the yoghurt - breakfast was lovely and made specially for us. I would definitely stay here again. It's an older building but we found it quite charming. Thank you for having us!

We stayed 2 nights Excellent location close to city centre, very convenient while being quiet. Having its own carpark is a real bonus, a definite plus point The staff lady who served breakfast was really friendly and pleasant, lovely manner The breakfast was very good, generous too, cereals as well as cooked. The poached eggs and scrambled eggs were cooked to perfection, really good We liked the characterful 1920s building, the interior wood panelling, the lovely dining room and lounge Our room had a great view over the large lawns and big cedars, lordly really The bedroom was nicely decorated, very comfortable bed and very quiet for a good night's rest We would stay here again

This house reminds me of the best bits of Miss Marple. Huge grassy garden, wood panelling, olde worlde peace and tranquility. Our twin room was exceptionally clean with a large window looking over the garden. It was perfectly equipped for a night away with lots of TV channels (if this floats your boat) space and all necessary equipment and consumables. The house is in a great location for the centre of town and cathedral or river or train station. Breakfast was good with cereals, homemade stewed fruits and cooked options. The restaurant/breakfast room.was beautiful as was the lounge and bar area. Service was extremely friendly. Lots to love.

It's the second time we've stayed here and we love the house and garden. It's so homely and the garden is just divine. I loved sitting outside with my book having an hours peace! Breakfast is very good, dinner wasn't as good as our first stay but still nice. Our bed was comfortable, there's plenty of hot water and even though the shower room was tiny it functioned really well. I love the thought that's gone into the use of the rooms there's a jug to help fill the kettle, hooks where you need them, a shelf and hairdryer by the mirror, proper bedside lamps - that's so rare in most places. Good parking, Very friendly staff.

Kathryn

Friendly welcome on arrival from a very informative host. Free bedroom upgrade from a twin to a ground-floor family room to accommodate my limited mobility mother. Room was spacious and well equipped and I appreciated the spare blanket in the wardrobe. Breakfast was excellent with very friendly and attentive breakfast staff who ensured my dairy allergen mother was well catered for. I loved the wide choice of cold and hot food. Check-out was quick and efficient. Overall we both enjoyed our stay and would definitely return again.
